Located in Lalibela, Ethiopia is a church cut from volcanic rock that’s anchored into the earth. Lalibela is famous for its monolithic rock-cut churches and considered one of Ethiopia’s holiest cities, second only to Aksum, and is a center of pilgrimage for much of the country.
