Distort! Obama administration defines Obamacare 'application' numbers to mean people who haven't enrolled or even picked a plan

(NaturalNews) Yesterday Reuters reported that 700,000 Americans had applied for health insurance through Obamacare websites, including Healthcare.gov. Huh? Everybody knows the Healthcare.gov website barely even functions. Some of the state exchanges are working, but participation in those has been dismal. Where is the 700,000 figure coming from?

Today I noticed Reuters had pulled the story from from its health news section and buried it. The story has also been modified and now includes this little gem of an explanation:

Completed applications mean that the applicants received a determination about whether they are eligible for tax credits... Applicants have not necessarily chosen a plan.

"Applications" redefined by Obama to mean whatever he wants it to mean

Blogger Bob Laszewski explains it even better:

["Applications" means] people who have only started the shopping process by signing up at the federal website and inquiring about what their subsidy is. That number is not the number of people who have actually gone on to buy insurance. So, for the Obama administration, and these states, an application apparently means an application to go shopping.

So, according to the Obama administration, a person who has "applied" for health care includes people who haven't really applied for health care. This 700,000 number is probably just the number of people who have registered their email addresses on government exchange websites.

The 700,000 claim is, as usual, another huge whopper of a lie from an administration that's drowning in desperation and suffering a credibility meltdown. Obama and his minions are grasping at any number they can find, then simply labeling it "applications" or "enrollment."

Far more Americans have LOST health insurance than have enrolled

The real story on Obamacare is beyond disastrous. It is apocalyptic for the U.S. economy and its citizens. Even Forbes.com wrote today that "More Americans In 3 States Have Had Their Insurance Canceled Under ObamaCare Than Have Filed An Exchange Account In All 50."

"Over 500,000 individuals have seen their insurance policies cancelled in just 3 states. In all 50 states, only 476,000 applications have been 'filed' in an exchange. (Even though we are still learning the true definition of 'filed.')" writes Josh Archambault.

He happens to be correct... and maybe even too conservative on the numbers. It turns out that over 1 million Americans are losing their health insurance due to Obamacare, while only a few thousand have actually completed the process of purchase health insurance.

By my rough estimates, the ratio of people losing health insurance vs. those buying it through Obamacare is currently running about 10 to 1. But the White House, totally lost in delusional la-la land, is implying that 700,000 people have purchased insurance while nobody has lost insurance. This is, of course, a con job, as only a few thousand people have actually acquired real insurance through the Obamacare system. And most of those were Medicare recipients who were auto-enrolled by states.

The actual number of Americans who have individually enrolled in Obamacare and weren't simply "bulk enrolled" via Medicare appears to be something in the low thousands only. More than 82,000 of the early enrollees in Obamacare were Medicaid recipients who were auto-enrolled.
