hello.....
this is just an update. some of you may recall that i was in the hospital about a month ago for my breathing issues. one of the sputum samples that i donated has been cultured for the last 4 weeks, and the final analysis came back today. apparently i have some sort of an uncommon fungal infection growing in there. i see my pulmonary doctor tomorrow and will learn more, i'm sure. i'm guessing that he may try and just have me directly admitted, but that is just a guess on my part. what little i have been able to find on this indicates that if left untreated it could spread to the heart and/or central nervous system...proving fatal. since this is in the early stages, iv treatment or even surgical removal appear to be the best options. i tell you this because captions may not be too numerous in the next few days. if i do get admitted to the hospital again, i do have an idea or two to try and keep some life in this blog, if i can get access to a computer---which is usually not a problem. so i'll know more tomorrow, but i just wanted to give you a little heads up. at least right now i have a diagnosis, which is a start............ and being in the hospital would be nothing new...i've been there many times before....alexis
