Originally charged with a third-degree felony, Zimmerman could have spent five years in jail if convicted, the Orlando Sentinel reports. She initially pleaded not guilty to the charge, according to the Associated Press.

((i don't know about you, but personally, i am getting tired of this story. At first, and even during the beginning of the trial, i truly believed george was guilty. Yet as the trial progressed, and continuing after the verdict, i learned a lot more information about the whole case. and i now agree that he was innocent. while his wife may have lied, in some ways it almost seems to be a vindictive move to convict her on this. But the plea bargain is very fair, and now the prosecutors can sleep better knowing that they did get this major conviction. at least in this case they actually has sufficient evidence---alexis))
