DES MOINES (AP) -
A Des Moines man has been accused of breaking into a neighbor's house and offering to mow the lawn.
Des Moines police say the burglary victim awoke Thursday afternoon and heard his dogs barking. The victim grabbed his gun and went to investigate.
The victim told police he found 28-year-old Nathan James Greene standing in the living room. Greene is accused of offering to then mow the victim's lawn for $5.
Police say the victim ordered Greene out of his house and he complied.
The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/HN63m4 ) Greene was charged with third-degree burglary. He remains at the Polk County Jail. Online records do not list an attorney.
