Plane drops $1 million in cash over Bolivia in suspected drug deal

Authorities in Bolivia discover a bag containing over US$1million believed to have been thrown off a plane as part of a suspected drugs transaction.

An anti-drug squad in Bolivia has recovered US$1million (£618,000) in cash after it was thrown from a light plane in Santa Cruz province, in a suspected drug trafficking transaction.

The haul was seized in a plastic bag that was dropped over Pozo del Tigre on Sunday.

Bolivia's Interior minister, Carlos Romero confirmed that the bank notes had been withdrawn from a bank in Paraguay. He also said an envelope found with the money showed that a transportation company had been hired by the traffickers.
